When You Need Help- Where to go for Financial Assistance

There is help available from the State of Pennsylvania and local non-profit agencies for families struggling to pay the rent and care for their families. If you have experienced a loss or reduction of income, don’t hesitate to reach out to these three Crawford County Resources:

Center for Family Services

The Center for Family Services exists to assist, support, and strengthen individuals and families throughout our communities. The Center supports Crawford County residents by operating the food pantry and thrift store and providing Emergency Assistance, Utility Assistance, Rent/Homeowner Assistance, and other services.

Salvation Army

The Salvation Army’s mission is to meet human needs wherever, whenever, and however, they can. They also operate a thrift store and food pantry and provide emergency assistance for people in need. In fact, many services are available in the Meadville area.

Department of Human Services

he Human Services Development Fund (HSDF) provides counties with a flexible source of funding to be used within the human services programs for which the counties are responsible:
Adult Services, Aging, Children and Youth, Drug and Alcohol, Homeless Assistance, and the Community Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities programs.
